Xiaowei Ma: Founder
Mr. Ma founded AGER in 2001. He is educated in China and the United States and prior to starting AGER, he worked with highly respected practitioners and offices in the States gradually forming his own distinctive design "voice" philosophy of landscape design. In 2001, with a strong sense of his own mission, Mr. Ma came back to China and founded AGER. Among his master works are Boao Forum for Asia International Convention Center and Sofitel Boao. Mr. Ma currently serves as an associate of the Department of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota and as trustee of the Shanghai Landscape Committee.
Christian Lemon
Christian Lemon brings to AGER over 20 years of experience as a landscape architect and urban designer. His experience on complex projects in the United States, China and Southeast Asia has spanned the full spectrum of services from conceptual design and programming to detailed design and project implementation. Christian received his BSLA degree from Cal Poly Pomona and was awarded the American Society of Landscape Architects Certificate of Merit for excellence in the study of landscape architecture. He received his MLA II degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design with an emphasis in urban design. Christian has consistently worked for extended periods of time in China and Southeast Asia conducting urban planning and landscape design charrettes. He is a regular guest critic for planning and design studios at various universities and is a licensed landscape architect. Christian currently oversees urban planning and landscape architect projects internationally for AGER.
Thomas Paine
Thomas Paine brings to AGER over 30 years experience as a landscape architect and in commercial real estate. He joined AGER's Shanghai office as Director of Design in 2006 and opened the Boston office in February 2008. Playing a leadership role in the firm's urban open space initiatives, Tom assists clients worldwide in adding value through inspired and sustainable design. Working in England and Taiwan in the 1970s opened his eyes to the roots of his chosen profession, and the limitlessness of connections between East and West. His collaboration on Yo-Yo Ma's Music Garden proposed makeover of Boston's failed City Hall Plaza crystallized in a vision of public space dedicated to celebrating Big Ideas, through high-tech special effects. He led the site design for the first gold LEED certified public building in Massachusetts at Cape Cod Community College. Tom received his BA and MLA from Harvard University and MBA from Darden (University of Virginia). He is licensed in Massachusetts.
Jessica Leete
Jessica Leete is a licensed landscape architect and has been the lead designer and project manager from conceptual design through construction documentation on projects ranging from public open space to campuses and eco-communities in China, the Middle East, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and the United States. She is a founding member of the Institute for Sustainable Urban Societies (ISUS Design) an internationally networked group of designers, planners, sociologists, scientists, and engineers whose goal is to develop innovative, integrated, and sustainable strategies addressing the complex environmental, social and economic issues facing cities today. Jessica brings her creativity and her commitment to environmental and social sustainability into practice with AGER Group and helps to provide clients with design strategies based on a thorough understanding of project-specific and global issues.
Lisa Hu
Lisa Hu joined AGER in 2002 after many years of design and executive experience at Turenscape and EDSA Orient in Beijing. Her extensive knowledge of the operation and management of design firms, from budgeting to quantitative analysis and performance metrics has played a key role in AGER's success.
Yin-Yuan Chin
Yin-Yuan Ching has nineteen years of experience in urban planning, architectural and landscape architectural projects in America and Asia with many US-based international multidisciplinary design firms such as HOK, KMD and Gensler. With his architectural registration in California, Ching leads projects from high-rise residential community to urban mixed-used complex. Ching holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Illinois as well as a Master of Architecture from the University of California Berkeley.
Yee Wing Yiu
Yee Wing Yiu LEED AP is an NCARB licensed architect with over nineteen years experience in national and international architectural firms and running his own firm. Projects include boutique hotel, community center, office building, villa, golf clubhouse and resort community planning and design in California, Arizona, Hawaii, Utah, Oregon, Hong Kong and China. Yee is a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology with a Master degree in Architecture. As an advocate of sustainable design principles, Yee also maintains a balance of budget and building performance in each project.
Benny Djohan
Benny Djohan currently leads a design studio focusing on large-scale and high-end residential design. He has over fifteen years of International landscape design experience, designing and managing projects across a wide variety of project types. He has worked in the United States, Singapore, Indonesia, and China and is an expert on plant materials. He received his undergraduate degree in landscape architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA degree in International Marketing from Lincoln University, Oakland, CA.
Jhun Tancio
Jhun Tancio has gained extensive experience in architecture, urban master planning and landscape design across a wide range of project types including hospitality and resort, commercial, mixed-use, and high-end residential over his twenty-two-year career. He has worked in the Philippines, Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and China. Mr. Tancio is experienced in all phases of service from conceptual design through site implementation and assessment. His high-quality drawing skills honed by extensive hands-on design experience continue to complement AGER's rich array of presentation graphics. He was educated at FEATI University, Manila.
Molly Huang
Molly Huang has over nineteen years of experience in landscape design and planning of commercial, high rise residential and community projects, and has become a strong advocate of sustainable best practices in landscape design. Before joining AGER in 2005 she worked as a senior landscape architect at Atkins and project manager in the Beijing office of EDSA Orient and Taiyi Construction Consultants Ltd., among others. She began her career in the UK as assistant landscape architect for the Northampton Borough Council. She was educated at the University of Edinburgh and Taiwan National Cheng Kung University.
